But I also like that "perception change" as a way to get a different perspective on a mix. The jarring change from stereo to mono can make some problems jump RIGHT out. My only fear is that my whole perception changes when I only have one ear open. I'd probably need to block one ear in advance, a good 15 minutes at least, of "calibration", to calibrate my brain for hearing in only one ear.
